Ministries

We physically and financially support many faith based and charitable organizations including Westside Urban Ministry, Westland Area Ecumenical Food Pantry in conjunction with the PSV Urban Ministry Center, and provide free meals on the Hilltop at the HOGE Presbyterian Church a few times per year. We have a coat drive that provides gently used or new coats for ages through high school and we take donations of kids hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and socks over the Christmas holiday.

Other Activities:

Book Club: Is a group of folks who read a novel of interest each month and enjoy fellowship and discussion about the book once a month.  We read books that are recommended by the group with a wide variety of subject matter including fiction, non-fiction, and biographies. Some of the books we have read are: Chocolat, My Story, My Song, Double Cross, Gone Girl, The Girls of Atomic City.  All are welcome to join us.

We also get togther to just have some fun with fellow congregants, family and friends sometimes at the church and sometimes at a local restaurant.  We have game nights and movie nights a few times a year that usually entail some kind of inspirational message.

And don't forget Fish Fry Friday night during Lent.  We pick up fish from one of the local Catholic churches that participates in the Friday Fish Fry activity.  Folks bring side dishes and desserts to pass.  Sometime we play games but always enjoy conversation.

Check our calendar for dates and times for any of the above activities.

Our newest ministry we have adopted is a garden group.  We have partnered with Prairie Lincoln Elementary school across the street from the church to teach students gardening skills that meets on Wednesdays.  The kids get to get their hands dirty to learn all about vegetable gardens to not only learn about planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting, but also the deeper knowledge of how the sun, rain, and dirt work together to grow plants.
